The Meridian Arts Commission to ask for your help in supporting the creation of public art in our city.

Construction is nearly complete on Meridian’s new City Hall and its large foyer will be an excellent space to launch our public art collection.  The Meridian Arts Commission is asking your help in supporting our efforts to bring high quality original art to the citizens of Meridian. Our inaugural public art piece will be a keystone in a vibrant municipal collection of quality public artworks and will showcase the new City Hall as a center for the arts. 

The Meridian Art Commission budget cannot solely cover the estimated $32,000 cost of commissioning an artist to create an original work of art for the lobby. To create a captivating visual experience for residents and visitors will require considerable donations from the community. We are applying for a $10,000 Public Art & Cultural Facilities grant through the Idaho Commission for the Arts; we have committed $4,500 Meridian Arts Commission funds, and are searching for $17,500 in additional grants, as well as public, private and corporate donations.
