Every residential customer in Meridian has access to curbside recycling services as part of basic weekly collection services. Collection occurs on the same day as your regular garbage collection.
Please have your recycling set out by 7:00 A.M. and within 5 feet of the curb or alley on your collection day. Please set the bin beside your trash cans in plain view for your recycling driver.
Currently we recycle:
Newspaper
Corrugated cardboard
Magazines
Aluminum and tin
Mixed waste paper (including telephone books)
Plastic bottles, tubs, jugs (including lids) and clam shells
Inkjet and laserjet printer cartridges
Household batteries
Cell phones, PDA’s, GPS units, and two-way radios
Prescription eyeglasses and sunglasses
Recyclables need to be placed in the bin sorted within paper sacks. If you would like a recycling bin and instructions on how to sort the material please call us at 888-3999.
All revenue that comes from resale of the material is returned to the City of Meridian to pay for the Household Hazardous Waste Collection Program and for recycling projects throughout the city. To date, these funds have helped pay for playground equipment, bleachers, bicycle racks, and picnic tables in parks and schools throughout the City.
The more you recycle the better Meridian becomes!
