SSC finished construction of our transfer station in March of 2006. Our garbage trucks now bring Meridian’s trash to the enclosed facility, where it is compacted and later hauled to the landfill. The transfer station enables our trucks to make 20 fewer trips to the landfill per day – saving fuel resources, improving air quality, and lowering traffic congestion.

The Ada County sanitary landfill is approximately 20 miles from Meridian. Going to the landfill from Meridian takes nearly two hours of driving and uses 40 miles (2 gallons) of gasoline round trip.

Save your time and fuel expenses by coming to SSC. Rather than making the long drive to the landfill, residents and businesses can drop off items at our transfer station located at 2130 W. Franklin Road, between Linder and 10 Mile.

We have convenient hours:

8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M Monday thru Friday

9:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M. Saturdays

We are closed Sundays and holidays.
